nameβs bix (aka bryan). born in '89 on long island, new york, raised and still currently live there. currently i'm a heavy machinery technician/mechanic, been in this field since i was 18.
i am an enthusiast of a bunch of things. computers, listening to music/acquiring audio gear/'euphonophilia', motorcycles, guns, photography, anime, amateur radio/shortwave radio listening, gaming; the list goes on. i love diy and owning devices that i can tinker with and repair. somewhat obviously by now, i strongly support the right to repair.
i acquired my first computer when i was 7 years old, a hand-me-down ibm ps/2 from my father. i was on the internet since around that time, too, through the computers my dad had in his home office. connected to my first irc server in 1998. i still remember that day, took me like an hour to figure out how to configure bitchx to connect. started gaming online when i was 10, playing q3a on the family computer and having to cap my fps to 5 in rockets-only servers.
enough of this for now, but damn, i miss those days.
